The Chicago Title Insurance School of Real Estate was established in 1996. Our school is licensed with the State of Washington in accordance with provisions of RCW 18.85.040 and Chapter 308-12H WAC.

Chicago Title Insurance Company's core business is the production and issuance of title insurance and the closing of escrows. The school compliments and supports our largest segment of customers, i.e., real estate agents and brokers.

Classes have been developed and designed to answer practical and everyday challenges encountered by real estate professionals in their business. Each of our certified instructors is also an employee of Chicago Title Insurance Company and works in an area of title, escrow or sales, giving them daily exposure to the most current laws and trends in the industry.

Upon course completion, students will receive a Certificate of Completion which shall include the following information:

  • Course Title;
  • Course Certification Number;
  • Course Commencement Date,
  • Course completion date;
  • Chicago Title Insurance Company School of Real Estate identification number;
  • Number of Clock Hours;
  • Examination (Yes or No);
  • Provider Certification;
  • Student Certification (to be completed by student after issuance by the School)

Prerequisites

Any person may take courses from the Chicago Title Insurance Company School of Real Estate regardless of age, race, sex, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, citizenship, or physical characteristics. No previous educational experience or specific knowledge is required. The Chicago Title Insurance Company School of Real Estate has a policy of providing equal access to its services. If you should need special accommodation, please contact the Administrator.

Admission Procedure

Admission is handled on a course by course basis. Students will be admitted to a particular course based on proper completion of a course Registration Form and payment of the course fee. The Registration Form may be completed on the day of the course or in advance. Payment of the course fee may be by personal check in advance, or by cash or personal check on the day of the course.

Causes for Dismissal & Conditions for Readmission

Students will be dismissed without a Certificate of Completion under the following circumstances:

  • Using cameras and/or recording devices of any kind to copy, record, or duplicate course materials and/or course content/delivery;
  • Failure to cooperate with the course Instructor and/or undue disruption of the educational environment;
  • Falsification of Registration Forms or Certificates of Completion;
  • Attempts to violate any provision of chapter 18.85 RCW or the rules promulgated thereunder;
  • Violations of chapter 18.85 RCW or the rules promulgated thereunder;
  • Violations of any Local, State or Federal law

Readmission will be considered on a case by case basis upon receipt of a written request for readmission by the Administrator.

Attendance Requirements

Attendance is required in accordance with WAC 308-124H-025. In order to qualify for receipt of a Certificate of Completion, students must physically attend the prescribed number of classroom hours for the course. A "classroom hour" is a period of fifty minutes of actual classroom or workshop instruction, exclusive of examination time.

Standards of Progress

Examinations are required for courses of 30 clock hours or more. Students must answer 70% of the examination questions correctly to "pass" an exam. Students must pass the examination (for those courses which require an examination) in order to receive a Certificate of Completion. For those courses which do not require an examination, physical attendance of the class is the only standard of progress.

Refund Policy

Students may apply in writing to the Administrator of the Chicago Title Insurance Company School of Real Estate, for a refund of fees paid for clock hour courses in which the student did not receive a Certificate of Completion. Refund requests will be considered on a case by case basis. Refunds will be prorated based on the percentage of the course requirements which the student did and did not complete. No Certificate of Completion will be issued to students who fail to attend classes in their entirety and/or fail to complete other requirements of the particular courses offered. No refund request will be considered if the request is submitted more than one year from the registration date for the particular course on which a refund is requested.

Recording is Prohibited

Using cameras and/or recording devices of any kind to copy, record, or duplicate course materials and/or course content/delivery is prohibited. The Chicago Title Insurance Company School of Real Estate reserves all rights to course content and materials. Violation of this policy is cause for dismissal (see the section on Causes for Dismissal & Conditions for Readmission).
